  5.          4.) Try to get involved. There is little worse  than  a  user
  6.              who  logs  on,  looks  around,  and  then  logs off again
  7.              without doing anything.  Once you have been "validated"
  8.              or "registered" on a new board, leave a message to the
  9.              sysop  and  the  rest of the users.  Let everyone know
  10.              that you are there, and tell them a bit about who  you
  11.              are.  Don't  be afraid to experiment with new features of
  12.              the board that you have not used before.  If you  have
  13.              any questions, again feel free to ask the SysOp for help.

  16.              calling.  BBSes  will  often  have  some  rules regarding
  17.              things such as use of  aliases  and  profanity. It  is
  18.              always  a good idea to find out about these limitations
